How Conscientious Are You?
Conscientiousness and Retirement Savings Survey

You are invited to participate in a research study on conscientiousness and saving for retirement. This study is conducted by Brent Roberts, Professor of Psychology, from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign.

This study will take approximately 5-8 minutes of your time. You will be asked to complete an online survey about your level of conscientiousness, income, saving for retirement, and other demographic questions. When you are done with the survey, you will be presented with information about your level of conscientiousness and how you compare to other people who have completed this survey.

Your decision to participate or decline participation in this study is completely voluntary and you have the right to terminate your participation at any time without penalty. You may skip any questions you do not wish to answer. If you want do not wish to complete this survey just close your browser.

Although your participation in this research may not benefit you personally, it will help us understand how personality traits like conscientiousness are related to behaviors like planning for retirement. There are no risks to individuals participating in this survey beyond those that exist in daily life. Your decision to participate, decline, or withdraw from participation will have no effect on your current status or future relations with the University of Illinois.

Will my study-related information be kept confidential?

We will not be asking for any identifying information. Faculty, students, and staff who may see your information will maintain confidentiality to the extent of laws and university policies.
